After a long respite (nearly 2 year -_-) from drawing and colouring, I had drawn a series of each individual main character in my jRPG project late last September. Out of curiosity I made a wallpaper for each of them that had all their previous full color renditions in the background in chronological order from left to right, to see how they'd progressed.
Here's one of them now, I hope you like it. ^^ I'll probably be uploading the others soon . . .
thank you :3 Mynette's "Spear" hasn't changed in design since her first concept, my friend and I really liked it. Been debating the actual weapon classification, since it has the attributes of the glaive-guisarme and the voulge or bardiche polearms. It is probably more like a voulge than anything. I like that word

O.o It's no secret that I'm a spear obsessive. Hell, I made a spear emote for DAmn. x3
Anyway, this might sound weird, but I'd class it as a poleaxe. While it shows traits seen in a glaive or bardiche, the weapon seems more suited for hacking than slashing. Also, poleaxes such as halberds often tend to have a hook of some kind on the opposite side of the axe head. ;O So as much as I love spears, I'd call it an axe of sorts. But you made it, so I guess at the end of the day it's your choice.
Aaaanyway~ Fantastic picture, and I love the costume design.

yay a fellow spear fanatic :3 as I probably (or should have) said in another comment, I had to have a character with a polearm XD (I thought I liked Dungeons & Dragons Online until I realized there were no spears... wtf!)
it's interesting hearing another expert breakdown of the weapon-type, and due to the broad blade of the "spear" tip I would agree it is a slashing weapon in the end, though I don't really see the piercing aspect totally cut out, just more of a secondary function... I dunno XD
I really am looking forward to doing another version of Mynette now that I figured out how to draw her hair (it was always a bit unmanageable )

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
